Abstract

Yttrium-90 (90Y) hepatic radioembolization is a targeted therapy for liver cancer that depends on accurate dosimetry for both treatment efficacy and safety. Conventional dose estimation using the Partition Model (PM) often overlooks patient-specific anatomy and radiation crossfire effects, leading to potential inaccuracies. This study presents a cross-platform treatment planning system (TPS) integrating Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to improve personalised dosimetric evaluation. Pre-treatment CT and 99mTc-MAA SPECT images from patients at University of Malaya Medical Centre were segmented using 3D Slicer to define volumes of interest (VOIs), including lungs, normal liver, and tumour.
