Abstract
This study investigates the impact of Career Guidance and Counseling (CGC) on subject selection among rural high school students in China under the reformed National College Entrance Examination (NCEE). Rural students often face challenges such as limited career awareness, a lack of trained counselors, and scarce localized resources, which hinder informed decision-making.The study aims to examine students’ career awareness, identify key factors influencing subject selection, and evaluate the effectiveness of CGC interventions. A mixed-methods design was adopted.
