Abstract

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are known as bio-fertilizers because they are able to support plant nutrient uptake especially P. The compatibility of the AMF-plant interaction also benefits the abundance of AMF propagules in the soil. However, studies on plants in Malaysia to determine the plants AMF status and assess their level of responsiveness towards AMF are insufficient. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the level of plant responsiveness towards AMF using ground cover plants (GCP) and employed the selected GCP species as AMF trap plants to propagate AMF propagules in the soil. Plant and soil samples were taken from 24 total quadrats from four sampling sites.
