Abstract
Although bangladesh's government has given priority to maternal and child healthcare, women frequently suffer from other illnesses (communicable and non-communicable diseases, mental health issues) as well as maternal health issues, which can have a deleterious effect on overall health. In addition, over the past decade, bangladeshi women‘s levels of education and employment in different sectors have improved, resulting in a rise in the female labor force participation rate and contributing to socioeconomic development. However, dual jobs increase women‘s workload, which affects their health as well as their children‘s health. Although children are immunized with basic vaccinations, rural-urban discrimination remains in accessing healthcare. Healthcare-seeking behavior is one of the indicators of good health. Bangladesh has a structured healthcare delivery system covering national to village or ward levels, but still, a significant portion of ill women and children under five seek treatment from non-qualified providers and from pharmacies/traditional/self-care. Furthermore, a considerable portion of patients forego any form of treatment due to the high cost of healthcare, and a large percentage of such healthcare costs is paid by out-of-pocket (oop) payment, which continues to rise despite implemented strategies.
