Abstract
Bullying has attracted significant attention from educators, researchers, policymakers, and the public due to its potential to pose serious physical and psychological health risks to those involved. It is often observed that individuals who engage in bullying in concealed areas of the school environment may continue to target their victims during physical education (PE) classes. However, the specific factors contributing to bullying victimization in PE contexts remain inadequately explored, particularly in China, where research on this field is limited. To fill this gap, the present study developed the conceptual framework based on the Social Ecological Framework (SEF). This framework hypothesized that motor skills, peer support, teachers` responses to bullying, and family conflict could influence bullying victimization, with self-esteem serving as a mediating variable in the PE setting.
