Abstract

Konsep kondominium merupakan satu cara hidup berkelompok. Kehidupan masyarakat di kondominium adalah unik kerana terdapat pelbagai kemudahan yang disediakan khas untuk para penghuni. Konsep kehidupan penghuni di sini adalah teratur dan terkawal hasil dari persekitaran kondominium yang memberikan keistimewaan dan sistem pengurusan yang lebih memenuhi kehendak penghuni kerana organisasinya ditadbir sendiri oleh mereka. Walau bagaimanapun, konsep kondominium ini masih belum wujud di Kangar Perlis. Dissertasi ini telah cuba untuk mengupas dan mencari faktor-faktor tentang ketidak wujudan kondominium di negeri Perlis serta menilai samada kewujudannya perlu atau tidak dengan melihat kepada maklumat-maklumat daripada satu-satunya pemaju yang cuba membangunkan konsep kondominium ini dan juga data-data prima yang lain dari jabatan-jabatan kerajaan dan swasta yang terlibat secara langsung dalam pembangunan pemmahan di negeri Perlis serta maklumat sekunder daripada kajian-kajian kondominium yang lalu. The concept of condominium is a life style based on group. The societal life style in a condominium is unique as it is encircled by a variety of facilities for its dwellers. The lifestyle offers privilege and good management system as a management in under the control of the dwellers. Alas, the condominium concept is non-existent in Kangar, Perlis. This dissertation has tried to investigate and identify the factors on the nonexistence of condominiums in Per/is. At the same time, the dissertation also evaluated the need for its existence or vice-versa. The method applied is by retrieving information from the sole developer who tried to initiate the condominium concept and also primary source, mainly being government and private sector which are directly involved in the housing industry in Perlis. Retrieval of secondary data from previous research on condominiums was also carried out. There were a few obstacles faced in obtaining data as not much research on condominiums have been done in Perlis due to it being a new concept.
