Abstract

Penderiaan jauh adalah proses memperolehi maklumat ke atas objek-objek, kawasan dan fenomena melalui analisis data tanpa menyentuhnya secara fizikal. Data penderiaan jauh amat efisen serta efek.iif untuk digunakan dalam analisis pengesanan perubahan litupan tanah dan guna tanah sesuatu kawasan, kerana pengambilan data clibuat secara konsisten menggunakan alat satelit. Pengesanan perubahan secara penderiaan jauh adalah proses mengerialpasti sesuatu bentuk fizikal, lokasi atau ciri-ciri spektrum melalui pengesanan perbezaan antara dua set imej yang telah diambil bagi kawasan yang sama tetapi pada masa yang berbeza: Matlamat kajian ialah mengkaji keberkesanan beberapa teknik pengesanan perubahan menggunakan imej Landsat 5 peta bertema daerah Ipoh (Lembah Kinta). Analisis pengesanan perubahan dibuat menggunakan perisian "IDRISI Geographic Information System and Image Processing Software for Windows" versi 2.0. Remote sensing is a process of collecting infonnation about objects, area, or phenomenon through the analysis of data acquired by a device that is not in physical contact with them. Remote Sensing imagery is very efficient and effective for the analysis of land use and land cover changes because the data from the satellite are collected consistently. Change detection is a process where two images at the same location taken on different dates are compared with each other to measure any changes in physical shape, location, or spectral properties. The purpose of this study is to apply various change detection techniques for land use and land cover changes at Kinta Valley (Ipoh) using LANDSAT 5 Thematic Mapper data. The change detection analysis was carried out using the IDRISI Geographic Infonnation System and Image Processing Software for Windows version 2.0.
