Abstract

Penyelidikan ini bertujuan untuk meninjau sejauh mana status pelaksanaan sistem pengurusan kualiti di Industri Kecil dan Sederhana (IKS) di Pulau Pinang. Penyelidikan ini ingin memahami tahap pelaksanaan, proses pelaksanaan dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh syarikat-syarikat IKS. IKS telah dipilih sebagai tumpuan penyelidikan berdasarkan fakta bahawa IKS mempakan tunggak utama dalam pembangunan negara. Kejayaan pembangunan IKS sudah pasti dapat merangsang pembangunan ekonomi di Pulau Pinang. Kejayaan IKS juga tumt dapat mendorong Malaysia mencapai wawasannya, iaitu menjadi sebuah negara yang membangun pada tahun 2020. It is the purpose of this research is to find out the overall status of quality management system implementation in small and medium industry (SMI) in Penang. The research would like to understand the implementation stages, it's related processes and the problem faced through out the process. SMI has always being playing an important role in the development of the country, thus is has been selected as the focus point for this project. A successful and well-developed SMI would definitely help in boosting the country's economy development. This success will bring Malaysia towards achieving it's nation Vision 2020, viz. to be a developed country by the year 2020.
