Abstract

The purpose of this study is to build an IMPAT module that will help KMK student in producing quality poetry and great storyboard. Activities that use thinking maps has been integrated in this module as recommended by the KPM. The module was built based on the Dick and Carey (1996) models. The study used the Quan-Qual method to look at students' achievement scores, poetry quality and quality of storyboards produced by KMK students. In addition, the effectiveness of the module will be seen through interviews conducted. The model was built on nine steps as recommended by Dick and Carey. The module will also go through formative and summative assessments. The quantitative study method will use pre and postal test instruments to view students' achievement scores before and after using the module. While qualitative study methods will use document analysis instruments and interviews to view the quality of poetry, the quality of storyboards built by KMK students and the effectiveness of modules. A total of 40 KMK students in Penang will be sampled. Studiers using the purposive sampling techniques in the study. Data analysis results clearly showed an improvement in the score of achievement, the quality of poetry and the quality of the storyboards built. This proves that the IMPAT module is indeed effective and the thinking map inside it helps students produce poetry and build better storyboards.
