Abstract

Malaysia adalah antara negara membangun yang mengalami perubahan ekonomi kesan daripada perubahan ekonomi global. Perubahan ini telah membawa kepada pertumbuhan ekonomi yang pesat terutama di dalam sektor perindustrian. Fokus utama di dalam Rancangan Malaysia Ke-10 (RMK 10) ialah membangunkan kluster industri dan meningkatkan produktiviti terutama menerusi usaha meningkatkan kemahiran modal insan. Oleh itu, sesebuah firma perlu menitikberatkan keperluan tenaga kerja yang lebih produktif, berkualiti dan berkemahiran tinggi untuk menjadikannya mampu berdaya saing di dalam aktiviti pengeluaran. Kajian ini akan meneliti persepsi pekerja terhadap pembangunan kemahiran sumber manusia, indikator dan implikasi pembangunan kemahiran sumber manusia. Kaedah kuantitatif dan kualitatif telah digunakan melalui borang soal selidik dan temu bual individu, di mana borang soal selidik menggunakan kaedah analisis frekuensi mudah manakala temu bual individu menggunakan kaedah analisis kandungan. Malaysia is among the developing countries that experiences economic changes as the effect of changes in the global economy. This has led to the rapid economic growth, especially in the industrial sector. The aim of the 10th Malaysia Plan (RMK 10) is to develop cluster industry and to increase productivity, mainly through the increasing of human capital skills. Thus, firms need to emphasize the necessities of a productive workforce, quality and highly skilled environment so that it can be competitive in the production activities. This study analyses the perception of workers towards the development of human resource skills. The indicators and human resources skills development implications were also examined in terms of the perception of workers. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used via questionnaire and individual interviews, where the questionnaire used easy frequency analysis approach while the individual interviews used content analysis.
