Abstract
Project deliveries are pivotal in driving economic growth, job creation, and innovation. However, present project success rates have been less than satisfactory. As such, this study explored the necessary leadership and organisational support requirements for effective project management. The literature review revealed key variables of emotional intelligence, transformational leadership, top management support, training and development and knowledge sharing, enabling project success. The study designed the research framework applying the essence of Social Capital Theory and Affective Events Theory as a foundation in understanding the dynamics of those key variables towards project success.
