Abstract
Energy is a vital element for the socio-economic development of a country. However, many households in Nigeria lack access to modern energy sources and rely on traditional fuels. This has a negative impact on household health and the environment. This study geospatially analyzed domestic energy consumption in Kaduna State. The study had five objectives, namely to identify patterns of domestic energy consumption by household, to analyze factors influencing domestic energy choices, to analyze spatial distribution patterns and rates of domestic energy consumption, to assess the environmental implications of domestic energy consumption, and to predict future patterns of domestic energy consumption in the study area.
