Abstract

In the current epoch, the united states of america (us) has been witnessing environmental degradation due to excessive anthropogenic activities mainly derived from intemperate energy consumption. To replenish environmental sustainability, the us has introduced several climate policies. However, these policies are unstable, and the uncertainty factor is associated with them. Hence, the us climate policy uncertainty (cpu) level has also been on the rise since the turn of the 21st century, significantly impacting the economy, energy sector, and environment. The existing literature on the cpu-energy nexus is relatively sparse and renders inconsistent findings. Also, the theoretical aspects of the cpu-energy nexus are vague. Based on the discourse mentioned above, the primary aim of this thesis is to scrutinize the influence of cpu on (non)-renewable energy deployment (i.E., energy production and consumption). In particular, the study has three core objectives. The first objective involves investigating the impact of cpu on renewable energy consumption (ren). In contrast, the second objective examines the effect of cpu on different sources of non-renewable energy consumption (nrec).
