Abstract

The uae's construction industry is crucial for economic and social development, but it faces challenges that hinder performance improvement. Intellectual capital plays a key role in addressing these issues and enhancing industry outcomes. The aim of this study is to examine the role of intellectual capital components in the performance of the construction industry in the uae. Moreover, this research also explores the moderating role of supportive work behavior on the relationship between intellectual capital components and the performance of the construction industry in a similar region. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire, and a valid sample of 408 respondents from the construction industry was finally analyzed using measurement model and structural model techniques through smart pls. All tests for measurement model assessment in terms of validity and reliability of the constructs have been applied. Furthermore, findings from the structural equation modeling approach suggest a significant and positive impact of human capital, structural capital, spiritual capital, and relational capital on the performance of the construction industry.
