Abstract
Microenterprises in Jordan face persistent challenges, resulting in high failure rates despite their significant economic impact. This exploratory study investigates the success and failure factors of physical, digital, and hybrid micro-enterprises in Irbid’s retail sector. It examines critical elements, including financial management, entrepreneurial traits, marketing strategies, technological adoption, government policies, customer relationships, operational time, and infrastructure. Guided by Resource-Based Theory (RBT) and Open Innovation Theory (OIT), the study employed qualitative methods, including in-depth semi-structured interviews with 18 micro-enterprise owners.
