Abstract
This study examines the moderating role of corporate governance on the relationship between the financial management factors and working capital management efficiency (WCME) across key MENA countries; namely, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The study aims to investigate the impact of the cash conversion cycle (CCC); free cash flow; debt financing; global crisis events; and corporate governance factors of board size, board independence, and CEO duality on the WCME. Additionally, it aims to examine how corporate governance factors affect the relationships towards the WCME and evaluate the endogenous effect between the WCME and firm risk-taking.
