Abstract

Zinc oxide (ZnO) has attracted considerable interest in the research community for its distinctive optical and structural characteristics such as wide direct band gap at 3.37 eV, and large exciton binding energy at 60 meV. Thus, numerous work presented various growth techniques to synthesize ZnO nanostructures (NSs) through a complex fabrication process such as sol-gel process and colloidal method [1,2], gas phase synthesis (spray pyrolysis and inert gas condensation methods) [3] and more. In this work, various ZnO NSs were prepared by simple deposition technique known as chemical bath deposition (CBD) through the agglomeration of the hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) and zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn(NO3)2.6H2O), at an elevated temperature of 96 oC for 3 hours.
