Abstract

Tesis ini bertumpu kepada ekologi populasi lipas Amerika, Periplaneta americana (L.), dalam sistem pembentungan. Selain itu, potensi penggunaan parasitoid ooteka lipas, Aprostocetus hagenowii (Ratzeburg), dalam pengawalan lipas Amrika juga dikaji dalam aspek meningkatkan kaedah pemeliharaan dan kawalan biologi terhadap lipas. This thesis focuses on the population ecology of the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana (L.), in sewers. In addition, the potential of using an oothecal parasite, Aprostocetus hagenowii (Ratzeburg), in controlling American cockroaches was evaluated in the aspects of rearing improvement and biological control of the cockroaches.
