Abstract

This study developed and tested a model that investigated the predictors (in the form of role involvement and social support) and outcomes (in terms of health and satisfaction) of work-family balance. Data was gathered from a sample of 228 entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized firms in three northern states of Peninsular Malaysia. The regression results revealed that role involvement Gob involvement and family involvement) and social support (subordinate support and spousal support) have varying predictive effects on work-family balance. In addition, health and satisfaction (representing indicators of individual well-being) emerged as outcomes of work-family balance. Findings, implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research are discussed.
