    Abstract

    Reka bentuk persekitaran fizikal bilik darjah memainkan peranan dalam mewujudkan suasana serta motivasi pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang sihat seperti mana yang dibincangkan di dalam kajian-kajian Srivastava (1991), Ibrahim (1,997), Siti Junaidah (1999), Siti Aishah (1999), Lindgran (2000), Rohainiah (2003) dan Zaharuddin (2003). Kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan persepsi guru terhadap reka bentuk persekitaran fizikal bilik darjah. Di samping itu, kajian juga bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap kesedaran guru terhadap kepentingan reka bentuk persekitaran fizikal bilik darjah. Data-data diperolehi dengan menggunakan instrumen soal selidik, pemerhatian dan temu ramah. Kajian ini melibatkan 400 orang guru dari 13 buah sekolah menengah dalam daerah Baling. Kajian ini penting dalam memastikan reka bentuk bilik darjah memenuhi saiz, susun atur, suhu, ventilasi, cahaya, silau, bunyi, akustik, kemasan, perabot, peralatan dan keperluan teknologi. The physical environment of classroom design plays an important role to enhance a motivated teaching and learning situation, as discussed in, Srivastava (1991), Ibrahim (1997), Siti Junaidah (1999), Siti Aishah (1999), Lindgran (2000), Rohainiah (2003) and Zaharuddin (2003). This study aimed to evaluate teachers' perception towards physical environment of classroom design. Besides that, this study also aimed to assess the teachers' awareness towards the physical environment of classroom design. In this particular study, the data are gathered from surveys, observations and selected interviews taken from 400 teachers from 13 secondary schools situated in the district of Baling. The important of this study is to determine whether the design adheres to the requirement of size, layout, temperature, ventilation, illumination, glare, noise level, acoustic, finishes, furnishings, provision of equipment and technology in classrooms.
