Abstract
Historiografi Melayu mempunyai nilai sejarah tersendiri yang jauh berbeza daripada konsep pensejarahan Barat. Walau bagaimanapun, dalam kajian ini penulis cuba membuktikan bahawa karya tersebut juga harus dianggap sebagai karya historiosofi Melayu, yakni karya tentang falsafah sejarah orang Melayu. Bagi pengarang Melayu, sejarah tidak hanya dilihat sebagai peristiwa masa lampau yang menampilkan fakta kebenaran, sebaliknya sejarah merupakan sesuatu yang boleh dijadikan bahan pengajaran atau pendidikan moral kepada manusia. Kelahiran karya sastera bercorak sejarah dianggap dapat memberi manfaat atau faedah kepada generasi terkemudian melalqj_, falsafah moral yang diserapkan di sebahk periStiwa sejarah. Dalam kajian ini, penulis akan membuat interpretasi dengan mengaplikasikan teori 'sfera faedah' oleh Braginsky yang dapat memperjelaskan konsep historiosofi Melayu. Berteraskan konsep historiosofi Melayu, penulis menganalisis secara khusus dan mendalam ke atas teks Hikayat Raja Pasai dan Sejarah Melayu. Malay historiography has it's own unique history which is very different from Western historiography concept. Nevertheless, in this research, the writer tries to prove that the works of literature should also be considered as Malay historiosophy, that is works about philosophy of Malay history. For Malay authors, history is not only seen as a past event which provides true facts, but as something which can be used as instruction or as moral education. The writings of history-based literature is beneficial to the later generation through the moral philosophy presented in the writings. In this research, the writer will try to interpret the historical literature by applying the theory of '~sfera faedah" by Braginsky which enables the explanation ofthe Malay historiosophy. Based on the Malay historiosophy, the writer analyses specifically and thoroughly the texts of Hikayat Raja Pasai and Sejarah Melayu.
