Abstract

Chromobacterium sp. is a bacterium capable of producing polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). The Chromobacterium sp. PHA synthase (PhaC) is able to polymerize shortchain- length PHA monomers, such as 3-hydroxybutyrate and 3-hydroxyvalerate.
