Abstract

A closed drainage system (CDS) serves a major industrial zone in Penang where heavy industries such as chemical process, petrochemical, fertilizer and heavy metal are located. The CDS serves dual role both in flood mitigation in the industrial area as well as an immediate receiving water body prior to the release of the effluent into the sea.
