Abstract

BC/ABL gene is a product derived from translocation of chromosome 22 to chromosome 9. Its presence confers a diagnostic and prognostic value for Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) respectively. The common breakpoints in BCR cluster regions are at b3a2, b2a2 and e1a2 junction.
