Abstract

Since the 1980s, there exist many speculations on the effect of computer aided design (CAD) software towards the quantity surveying profession. Many have mentioned the use of CAD software that can automatically generate bills of quantities would replace the quantity surveyor (Rycroft 1980, Campion 1980, Cox 1983, Brandon 1983 and Wexler 1986).
