Abstract

Museums in Malaysia are closely associated with nation building and sought to project commonly shared experiences of the past which is no different from museums in other parts of the world notably Asia and Africa.2 Yet museum study is very much neglected in this country. Virginia Matheson Hooker had written a fair bit on the Museum of National History while Nigel Worden had surveyed the museums in Melaka and these reflect the representation of the Malaysian past.
