Abstract

Museums in Malaysia are closely associated with nation building and seek to project commonly shared experiences of the past which is no different from museums in other parts of the world notably Asia and Africa? The narration of the past is done on a selective basis with the foregrounding of aspects of the past that are deemed suitable in the eyes of the museum bureaucrats. Yet museum study is very much neglected in this country.
